  • Hungarian Doctor of Medicine and Neurobiology.
  • Founding director of the Basel Institute for Clinical and Molecular Ophthalmology (IOB) in Switzerland and an advisor to the Allen Institute.
  • Much of Roska’s research focuses on visual perception, including its principles and information processing pathways. He also investigates therapies to combat visual dysfunction and restore sight for people with visual impairments. [1] In 2018, his research team managed to grow a functional artificial retina in a laboratory.
